toyota sienna, honda odyssey, nissan quest and acadia info
I think I'm 93% sold on a minivan. I'm going to have 3 kids in car seats and from what I'm told a minivan is the way to go. Do minivans have AWD? From my research it looks like the only one that does is the Toyota Sienna.
This weekend I'm looking to price out and test drive the Toyota Sienna, Honda Odyssey and Nissan Quest. Can anyone that drives these minivans give me some feedback what they like or don't like. Also if you don't mind sharing can you let me know what you pay monthly - I'm pretty sure we'll be leasing. I want to have all my ducks in a row when I go into the dealership. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to share it on the board.

I was shopping in 2014 and ended up buying the Sienna. I liked the Sienna and Odyssey best for roominess. The Quest I liked because of the way the 3rd seat fold was different. I liked the Odyssey for the number of car seat attachments. I think Odyssey was the only one that had a model you could put 3 seats across in the middle row. In the Sienna, I really liked how much the middle row seats could move backward and forward and it was easier to access the 3rd row. Overall, I found the Toyota most comfortable and got that, but it was really a toss up for me between the Sienna and Odyssey. If I had 3 kids, I might have gone for the Odyssey because of the car seat attachments.

I am leasing a sienna. I originally wanted an odyssey because you can fit 5 car seats, but it was cheaper for us to stick with Toyota because we had a lease from them that was ending. That said, I LOVE it! The sienna can fit 4 car seats and is so roomy! We just took a trip to pa with 4 adults and two kids in car seats. It was great! I thought we weren't going to have enough room for all our luggage, but In the trunk there is a well that can fit a lot! I love how far the bucket seats move, and my brother in law(6 feet tall) and his gf sat in the third row and said they felt like they were in a limo with all the room, and loved that the seats could recline. We didn't get awd because we were looking for the cheapest option, but I drove it in that last storm and it was great. We are paying $359 for a 2015. It's the second model up from the lowest model.
Here's a link I used to check what suv's/vans could fit car seats. It only has up to 2015, but I'm sure the 2016 aren't much different.

We have a 2012 Honda Odyssey EX-L and we love it.
Go test drive them and see what you like. Our sister in law has the Sienna and she loves hers.
We like the way the Odyssey handled better and liked the interior better. At the time it had a much bigger screen inside than the Toyota and really liked the interior set up. We're also more Honda people than toyota people and have had a lot of Hondas in the family.
Only thing I don't like is how large it is to park sometimes, but I love how large it is inside.
Don't have a monthly lease payment, we bought ours.
IMHO AWD in a minivan is definitely not necessary around here, the tires make more of a difference than the drive wheels. We've driven it in many of the snow storms just fine.

We have a 2016 Honda Odessey EX-L and love it. Ratings wise it was the top safety/reliability of the three. The Sienna was our second choice. We got a great deal on a lease, much less than one of the above posters was paying for the Sienna. Our neighbor's have the Odessey and the Sienna and a few love their Sienna but wished they got the Oddessey. It is very roomy.

we've been looking to replace a ford freestar. test drove the new honda, and felt it was ok. wasn't thrilled. loved the drive on the quest, and the seats were the most comfortable of all the minivans. but the value on the quest is junk. we went to look at a leftover, and the price was insanely high for it. we planned to buy. part of my reason for getting another van, is a bad back, only type of car i can sit in comfortably. quest was the best for seats, ugliest thing i've seen though. but they're not selling well, no 16's on the lots at all. 14's still floating around the area. loved the seat options in the Kia, but again seats were not comfortable. so far only test drove the honda and quest, and though the quest was a better ride by far.

ugh I know the quests are horrific looking but I've had a nissan since 2009 and from what I find they give the most bang for your buck so that's why I was going to check out the quest. If it's comparable price wise with the odyssey or sienna I'd opt for that for pure aesthetic reasons

We have a Siena and love it! We found it to be the roomiest of the minivans. We do not have AWD. That is part of an upgraded package and we were trying to keep our payment as low as possible (we bought). If I had to do it over again I'd go for the AWD. I'm not a fan of how it handles in the snow.

pricewise, you can stil get leftovers on the quest. they're not selling. so they are willing to deal more than toyota will, thats for sure. we went to look at one in jersey, price seemed decent, but then we look at the comparable used car, same amount of miles (it was a demo, so technically new) and the used car was like 9k less than what the dealer wanted. so we walked away. now back to square one trying to figure out which one will make the most sense. wish they still made my freestar, i'd just get another one of those.

Mostly the same here - we have a 2015 Limited. I say go test drive, and you will know which one is right for you. We didn't look at the Quest - the Odyssey and Sienna have better safety ratings.
There is also a new Mercedes van - the Metris. Doesn't look super family friendly - looks like it is more for business use.
