Let's face it. You didn't want to be in your SIL's wedding party since day 1. This was before you were even pregnant. Yes. I remember your initial post on your original name.
I was fine at 6 weeks pp.
Modify when/where you get ready. She's giving you the option of wearing a dress you're comfortable in.
You'll be fine. This is her day. Not yours.

It's people like you that would even cause daily posters on a forum like this to change there account name. (not saying OP has done this but im pointing out what you have implied)

Mods should keep a close eye on posters like you.

Why would someone only have 2 posts on an account unless they use it for either lurking or posting an opinion that they would not normally stand behind out in the open?

The OP asked for everyone's opinion on the subject matter and although you successfully gave yours, you did it in a way that is toxic and shows no value in the discussion amongst the rest of the posters.

I suggest you curb your assumptions and learn what forums like LI Families are all about. We are all here to make our lives easier, better, more positive and to know when its the right time to take the trash out (yikes that was a good pun!)

Ill clean up your post for you:

"It looks like you show a lot of concern for your SIL's wedding and her feelings, that is very nice to see.
I was fine at 6 weeks pp.
Modify when/where you get ready. She's giving you the option of wearing a dress you're comfortable in so that is a huge positive. Hopefully it all works out for the both of you and you are both happy on that day, I believe my vote is to stay in the bridal party"

That wasn't too hard now was it.

Everyone has to start somewhere. Roandjoe has 2 posts since 2013, it screams side account. It seems you may be looking passed the whole point of my post. Then again, you appear to be the person who agreed with that toxic post that I originally quoted... "Exactly what Roandjoe said." so its no surprise to see you stand up for the negative person here. Also raises some eyebrows as to who you might actually be....

Would also like to apologize to the OP. I am not trying to Hijack your question here. I just dont like negativity in an environment that it is not necessary for.

bridal party- 6 weeks postpartum

I would stay in. I went to a wedding and she stayed at my parents at 6 weeks then not long after that I went to an out of town wedding for 2'nights. Granted she was with my parents. I guess it would come down to who the sitter was and how comfortable I was with them

Re: bridal party- 6 weeks postpartum

With my first I had a very rough recovery - episiotomy, third degree tears, etc. I was in a lot of pain. But, if it was a close friend or family member and the dress was remotely doable I would have tried to do it. With my second I had a much easier recovery and felt awesome by 6 weeks.

In either case, however, I would not have been OK with leaving my newborn for that long. I breastfeed and was very clingy with both newborns and would not have wanted to pump or leave the baby with a stranger at that age. I know many people go back to work at 6w and do it but I personally would not have felt comfortable with that. So, for me to attend the wedding at all, the baby would have needed to come with me and be watched on-site by a close friend or family member (like in a bridal suite) so I could pop in and visit and nurse frequently. If the bride wasn't cool with that, I probably would have attended the ceremony as a guest and skipped the reception entirely. JMO

Re: bridal party- 6 weeks postpartum

I felt fine 6 weeks post partum and I probably would have enjoyed a little adult interaction and shenanigans at that point. I would just take breaks to pump.
