Anyone deliver at Stony Brook?

I am delivering at Stony Brook and am trying to start packing my hospital bag.

Does anyone know what they provide you with and what they don't? I read on previous posts that they don't provide those mesh underwear so I guess I would need to buy like pads or depends??

What about for the baby? I assume they supply formula if you aren't breast feeding. Anyone know what kind?

Thanks!

Anyone deliver at Stony Brook?

Stonybrook is such a good hospital. I delivered both of my daughters here and we have been here with our baby girl since Tuesday night as she recovers from the flu and rsv and complications that arose as a result. I can't imagine going anywhere else.

It's true that they don't give you mesh undies. I was fine with that because I brought depends silhouettes disposable underwear. They do provide bulky pads so if you want something thinner, bring your own. They give you dermoplast, peri bottle, witch hazel pads.

The formula that they give is enfamil premium newborn in rtf nursettes.

I'm pretty sure they do provide the mesh underwear. I went on a tour of the hospital and I remember them mentioning it.

Unless they've changed since I delivered there in September, they don't.

Eliza...I hope your little one gets better soon!! You must be so stressed right now. :(

Thank you so much for the information.

Do I need to bring anything for the baby, diapers, wipes, outfits? or they provide those too?

I didn't need much. I used their pads, diapers, wipes, etc. For my second I had brought nothing expecting to be back home in an hour and ended up with an ecs. They dug around to find me contact solution and something to put my contacts in lol. Some things you might have to ask for but they'll give you what you need. They gave me nursing pads bc my milk came in quickly. They don't give mesh undies but their pads were fine. Just pack undies you don't mind getting stained. They also don't give lanolin anymore bc they recommend using a little milk which worked well for me. For the baby, you just need a going home outfit. We were given pacifiers but dd was in the nicu, I don't think they give them anymore generally. Like pp said, they are the best! I would never go elsewhere after my last experience there.

Thank you!

All I brought for the baby was an outfit to come home in. They had diapers and dry wipes. Oh and they put the baby in side snap tees that can be easily removed when they have to weigh the baby.

They do not provide them - I delivered in November and did not get them.

I delivered at SB and had a very long and torturous labor - the antepartum care was amazing, the nurses and midwives were incredible.

Post partum, they practically left me for dead with the exception of checking my blood pressure religiously despite the fact that I had never had a BP issue in my life. I had 0 help from any nurse or doctor when it came to BFing, and I had to practically beg for extra pads, chucks, and dermaplast spray. Such a disappointing experience and I could not wait to leave.

I am not sure I will deliver there again when I get PG.
