Zika & Travel w/ Toddler
I have a call to our pediatrician about this so waiting to hear back - but in mean time, wanted to see if anyone was aware if there's concerns for toddlers traveling to the Dominican Republic area. We're going in a few months but one of my friends told me that now even kids are in danger of getting the virus.

Zika & Travel w/ Toddler
Read up on the FACTS not the rumors or the myths The mosquito that carries it is a weak flyer Yes, everyone can get it It's a mild sickness with only 1 in 5 even knowing they are sick Most don't seek medical care and it's just annoying at best. It's easily repelled with bug spray
Don't even believe me, go to CDC or WHO and look it up.
Don't google it because you'll get CNN or other media blitz reports. Stick with the scientific facts. Everywhere you travel, every time you travel you can get sick. It's been around for years. Take the same normal precautions you would whenever you travel. Calling your pediatrician is a start.

The person who told me their pediatrician told them directly that there's concerns with it - it wasn't from Google or anywhere else, because I totally agree - they will hype things up so I tend to avoid all of that.
I spoke w/ my pediatrician and she said there's no concern currently, its only for pregnant or planning to get pregnant women.
