Disney bag/backpack for parks
We are going in June but I am already obsessing about some of the details. And I have a thing for bags. So I'm wondering what BTDT moms have brought. A backpack? Or a larger crossbody bag?
It's just me, DH and DD. Since DD is 9 I won't obviously need much (i.e. diapers). I know I'll need sunscreen but off the top of my head I can't think of anything else beyond the usual stuff I have in my purse.
Ideas?

I usually bring a change of clothes, or at least a fresh tee shirt for both DS. I usually bring my own light up toys for nighttime and/or glow necklaces. I have sunblock and my camera. I buy 2 water spray/fan bottles so I don't have to buy the expensive ones in the park.

maybe some glow sticks, etc from the dollar store for at the night time parades or whatever--- might keep her from bugging you to buy her the expensive ones in the parks LOL also- about a week before we left, i sent a box down to our hotel (wilderness lodge) full of snacks,etc--- so that way they didn't take up room in our suitcases-- so i had those to put in my park bag to avoid paying for snacks in the parks (although DS was only 4 and gets HANGRY if he doesn't have sometihing to eat every 2 hours HAHA your DD might be more sane ) ... also- you might use your phone a lot on the Disney app to check wait times or get new fast passes... so i bought a portable charger to keep in our backpack- that came in useful. you'll probably want ponchos or rain jackets, too for the random florida downpours....

I bring a Vera Bradley backpack as well and it's worked well (even traveling with one in diapers).

Re: Disney bag/backpack for parks
Thanks everyone. I have a large backpack which I think is too much so I am now on the hunt for a smaller one.

I wore a crossbody and we had a stroller so I had a bag in the basket with snacks and water. If we didn't use the stroller, my DH probably would have just carried his backpack.

this is what we did, too... kept a backpack int the stroller with not-so-valuable stuff- like the ponchos, snacks, etc.... then i carried a crossbody bag with me when we went on rides that had our camera and phones, so that i wasn't leaving that stuff in the stroller...

Re: Disney bag/backpack for parks
When kids were younger, I used to take a backpack full of stuff. Now I wear my magic band and take nothing else except my phone. No wallet. Nothing.
In the past, I have taken a crossbody bag or a backpack.

I have a bag from eagle creek I use for theme parks. I think it's called side kick. It has an adjustable shoulder strap or could also be a fanny pack. If it were only me and DH, that's what I would bring. With the kids, I put my important stuff in that bag and take it with me on rides. The diaper bag has clothes, snacks, diapers for the kids and stays with the stroller. I think Disney let's you bring fairly large bags on rides. I was able to bring my small bag on roller coasters at Universal.

We too are going in June and I am also obsessing already over this stuff. I decided to do this. I'll bring a crossbody bag and we will have a double stroller and put water and snacks under there. My kids are young though, 5 yo twins and my youngest will be almost 4. If they were older, I'd probably just bring a backpack with a change of clothes, sunscreen and some snacks. Although now I'm thinking a small backpack would still be better for us. Ugh!

we bring a backpack for the autograph books, sunscreen, snacks, water, change of clothes, etc that stays in the stroller. Then I wear either a small crossbody or a small packback bc I like to keep our phones with us on rides.

Re: Disney bag/backpack for parks
I bring a small crossbody bag for my phone and that's it. Magic band has everything else. When we go to AK, I bring a change of clothes because we always get soaked. We always go back at the hotel midday and can reapply sunscreen, get snacks etc.

yup! i did it last summer- worked out awesome!! AND we used the same box to ship souvenirs, etc home, too so we didn't have to lug them on the plane (for that we just went down to the front desk at the resort and they helped us.
when i was doing it, i just googled, and this post came up- i followed what it said and it got there fine! when you check in, you just let them know you have a package ADDRESSES (you have to scroll down a little bit to see the addresses.....)
people sometimes also have Amazon pantry ship cases of bottled water, etc right to the resort, too ahead of time
