Halo Bassinett
yay or nay..
We are thinking of putting the baby in a little later, for co-sleeping/nursing (hopefully) purposes. The bassinett is $250 
Is it worth it? I think it would last till the baby is 20 lbs or so.

I looked at this too and thought it was just way overpriced for what it is. I ended up with an arms reach cosleeper. But my DS only slept in the Rock n Play for the first few months so it was kind of a waste. I saw the Halo at BBB clearance a few weeks ago, if you don't mind a floor model. You can use the 20% off too.

A friend of mine who had a csection recently has this and said it was a lifesaver. She used it until the baby was 3 months old and then transitioned to the crib.
For me, I had a regular bassinet for DS but I only used it for a week and then decided to transition to the crib. For this baby I'm skipping the bassinet altogether and going directly to the crib. I found that when DS was sleeping in my room in the bassinet, I wasn't getting a good solid sleep. I was either laying awake listening to him breathe or trying to be super quiet to not wake him. This time I'd prefer to just start out with the baby in their own room.

DD started out in the crib, and she screamed every single time I put her down. After about a week of this, and pumping around the clock, I had to put her crib in make her crib into a pseudo bassinet but removing one of the side rails and putting it by our bed.

Oh No  Since it sound slike you want to be prepared for the worst this time  what my friend loved about the halo bassinet is that it easily swings away from the bed. It's very maneuverable especially if you have a csection and have trouble getting up and down easily. You don't have to scootch your butt down to the end of the bed to get out. You can just swing the bassinet off to the side and get right out of the bed. She swears it was well worth the money.

We have it and we love it. I actually bought it for $150 from a Mommy in a FB group used but it was in perfect condition. I would try to buy one used. We are really happy with it!

Same for me. My first DD lasted 3 weeks in a bassinet in our room; my second DD lasted 5 days. I'll be starting #3 right in his own crib. I never slept well with the kids in our room and with a video monitor, I'm okay with starting him out in his own crib.
Worst case scenario, I have a rock-n-play I can bring into my room if he needs to come in with me one night.

How is this any different from all the other bassinets out there? My kids always hated the bassinet for some reason so I rarely used it.

This one can be moved around, and most importantly (for me atleast) the side wall lowers. I think some of them vibrates gently also..

I have one and my ds has been sleeping pretty well in it since we brought him home 5 days ago. I love how he's right next to me so I don't have to get up to check on him. There is a model that costs a little less, $200, if you don't want or need the vibration and music feature. That's the one I have bc I didn't think those features would be necessary.

Yep, it swivels so easily to put him in, take him out, swiven over the bed if needed, just really maneuverable. It raises up and down depending on height of your bed, etc. It's definitely not cheap but has a good resale value. I purchased for $150 and expect to be able to sell it for about the same price in a few months.
