Subchorionic Hematoma
I just had my 8 week visit (although I was 9 weeks 4 days at the time) and I was told I have a subchorionic hematoma. They said its less than a centimeter and didn't sound concerned about it at all. I am O- which means I have to get the RhoGAM shot at 28 weeks and then after the baby is born. They ended up giving me the shot at the appointment incase the hematoma decides to break apart. It all sounds so scary! Has this happened to anyone else?? Is it anything I need to worry about?

Subchorionic Hematoma
I'm O+, but I had a sch. Everything was fine, it resolved on it's own. If it was a large sch it would be more of a concern, but one that tiny is nothing to worry about!

Is it possible for the hematoma to get larger?

Subchorionic Hematoma
I had one. It was found around 10 weeks. I was told to take it easy. No exercising. By my 12 week appointment it had already dissolved.

Did you bleed? I haven't bled yet.

I did. Which is how we found out I had it. I had a gush of blood and freaked out. They told me I could continue to bleed. I took it easy as much as possible. When I went back it was dissolved. I don't remember the size of it or the location. But they told me where it was located that it most likely wouldnt cause a problem.

I think so, but it's much, much more common for them to get smaller. I spotted, which is how it was found. I was 8 weeks and when I went for my ultra screen it was gone.

Re: Subchorionic Hematoma
The significance of a sch all depends on the size and location, relative to where the baby is. I'd take it easy and stay hydrated in the meantime.

Subchorionic Hematoma
I had one when I was 5 weeks along with DS. I woke up one morning to a gush of blood. Freaked out and went straight to my RE. They did a sonogram and said it appears to be breaking up(reason for the gush). All is well since my 9month old is sleeping right in my arms.

Subchorionic Hematoma
I had one. I had a really bad bleed starting at 4 weeks and went on and off for about 4 weeks. I got the Rogham shot the 1st time as they thought it was a miscarriage but my bloods kept going up so they finally did a scan at 5 weeks and saw it. I am now 17 weeks and it is all cleared up.
