Potty Training- Night time
About 3 months ago we potty trained DD during the day. We would do pull ups at nap time and night time. Two nights ago we decided to take away the pull ups even though she still had wet diapers in the morning. We have her pee before bed but she has been peeing during the night and won't wake up even if she is wet. How is she supposed to wake up and tell us she has to go when she is wetting herself and not even getting up then? These past two nights I have checked her up till 1am and she has been dry.

Potty Training- Night time
I wouldn't push it. It's more developmental than anything at night. Some kids just sleep so deeply that they won't wake up.
Dd will be 3 end of June and has been trained since xmas. She's in underwear for naps and good nites over night. She wakes up dry and as soon as she wakes she says she has to pee. When this box of good nites runs out I'll try underwear at night.

Re: Potty Training- Night time
If she's waking up wet she's not ready for night training. Keep the pull-ups longer. When she wakes up dry, take them away. We didn't "do" anything for DS to night train. He was just ready.

Re: Potty Training- Night time
DD just asked me why I was putting a diaper on her (she had been potty trained & dry for months). She never peed in her bed.
DS who is older... Is still in a pull up at night. We will try to train again this summer. I don't know if it will work. He has friends who are older who are still in pull-ups at night.

Re: Potty Training- Night time
I used to take my DC out of bed at 11 and put on potty, that worked well until they started to wake up and realize on their own

Potty Training- Night time
My DD is 3.5 and has been day potty trained for 1.5 yrs and we still can't take away the pullups at night. She wakes up wet every. single. day. We've tried limiting beverages after a certain hour, forcing her to pee before bed - it doesn't matter. She just can't hold it during the night and she also doesn't seem to wake when she pees. She hates wearing a pullup now and most nights, she takes it off and changes into underwear or just pants and ends up peeing herself. We do a lot of laundry these days....

leave her in pullups at night. we potty trained dd at 20 months and she got it right away....but not at night. she would wake up wet every morning, yet she slept through it. didnt even budge. tried having no drinks after 6:30pm, potty before bed, taking her to the potty before we went to be at 11pm...but no luck. shes a little over 3 and still in pull ups at night. when she starts waking dry, ill get rid of them.

Potty Training- Night time
She just may not be ready. And it just may be her body isnt ready for it. Physically some kids kidneys and bladders just arent ready for overnight. My dd is 4 still waking up wet. She tells me she wants to try but shes not waking up and letting me know she has to pee. Shes in pull up overnights but shes soaked in the morning still. So I just havent pushed it. I heard it can be up to 5 years old until they are ready. IF by some chance she naps shes dry but overnight still soaked.

Potty Training- Night time
I have read to wake the child up 30 mins before their normal wake time. It's the most common time they go.

My son was trained for about 2 years before we were able to take away the pull ups at night. He was a little over 5 when we were finally able to take them away for good. His body literally was not ready to do it - it's bladder maturation and you can't force that.
I would also not wake them up at any time because then you are creating a habit and training their body to go at a certain hour every night. Let her sleep in pull-ups - there's nothing wrong with it.

Re: Potty Training- Night time
Just wondering if anyone has had ANY success with this. The night before last night DD didn't have any accidents at all. So don't know if I should keep trying a little longer before putting her back into pull ups. She has also been able to nap in the crib with no accidents as well.
