Those of you who don't breast feed..any drying up tips?
With my first son, I don't remember it being long, drawn out and uber painful but with my 2nd, it took a full 7 days of torture to dry out. I was putting frozen cabbage leaves on me under 2 sports bras. I don't think that really did the trick or if it did, it was taking too long. Anyone have any good tips?

I once read antihistamines- because they dry everything up. I never tried it though because mine went away pretty quickly with the cabbage leaves and the ice packs and a tight sports bra

I didn't do anythign special. I don't even recall it being too annoying. Took a few days at most.

Don't get them wet in the shower (I did this and I almost got mastitis!) Cabbage leaves and tight sport bras, took over a week for me though to dry up.

Sage tea! It's delicious and it works. I did a combination of that with cabbage leaves and it worked well after quitting cold turkey.

OMG this! Unfortunately I got them wet and ended up with mastitis. It was a nightmare.
I also used an ace bandage to wrap them as tight as possible and then wore a sports bra over it. It took about a week to dry out completely.

Double sports bras with ice packs in-between. Ibuprofen.

Dumb question - how do you not get them wet in the shower?

Can you buy sage tea anywhere?

Face your back to the water. It's okay if they get a little wet but you don't want the hot water beating down directly on them.

Yes, this exactly.
Also with regard to the Sage tea, I found it at the Vitamin Shoppe, not sure if it helped or not.

I cut a newborn diaper in half, filled it with water, stuck it in the freezer and then put them in my tight sports bra. Oh the agony! :(

If you have a Wild by Nature nearby, they definitely carry the sage tea. I like it with a bit of honey! I'm guessing Whole Foods would likely have it as well.
