electrolysis

Has anyone had this done? I have some very coarse hairs on my face/chin.... a few are dark, but most are very light (maybe grey? Chat Icon) hairs that are not a candidate for laser. Electrolysis was suggested instead, but don't know how to find a practitioner?

Has anyone had this done and loved their results and electrologist (is that what they would be called? lol)

I need to get rid of all these hairs... sooooo embarrassing! They are so coarse, so I feel like they are so noticeable. And they don't wax well - between the rashes and then sometimes the wax not actually being able to pull them out - and I'm tired of plucking. I feel like it's all I do anymore. And I feel like a gross, hairy beast. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I have no advice on electrolysis, but I know threading will get rid of all those unwanted hairs.

When I lived on LI I went to Luanne.

Threading, tweezing, waxing, etc will make the hairs grow back more coarse. Electrolysis is the way to go for permanent results. It's not immediate, it takes time to kill the follicle. Treated hairs will go back lighter, and then not at all.

Thank you! Massapequa is a bit of a hike for me, but I will still check her out... I'd travel a hundred miles each way for all the treatments if I had to!

I've tried waxing... Lost some of my skin a couple of times, gave up on that. I've tried threading, but I get a terrible rash from it on my cheek/jaw line. Ready to try electrolysis... I just want it to finally be gone for EVER. Lol.

I don't have a recommendation for a place to go, but my mom had this done years ago and as a child I can never remember her picking up a razor or tweezers or going for wax. She was always hair free where she wanted to be. Electrolysis worked great for her.
