6 weeks, hcg doubled but prog drop

Hi Ladies-
I have been getting monitored with bloodwork every 48 hours the past week after finding out I'm pregnant after a miscarriage in February. My HCG levels continued to double every 48 hours, but my progesterone was a bit all over and on the low side.. It went from 12 to 14 down to 11. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with this. I'm now on progesterone supplements (just started this evening) as a precaution. Thanks!

Congratulations! With my first 2, I needed supplements, too. I have pcos and that can often cause low progesterone in pregnancy. With my middle guy, my levels went down to 4. But rebounded with supplements.

I was concerned about my progesterone after a miscarriage too. Levels do fluctuate though out the day. My level was similar to yours, 12 something around 6 weeks. I asked about the supplements and was given them. I later found out that the Dr I see the most doesn't really believe they help. So, not sure if they helped, but I felt like I was doing what I could. I requested another test at the beginning of the 2ND trimester, while I was already weaning off the supplements and although Dr said the level was fine, I was below the normal range for 2nd trimester. I'm at 32 weeks now.

Mine dropped low enough for me to start spotting. I went on crinone at 6 weeks and now have a healthy DD. My OB didn't really think they'd do anything, either but also felt they couldn't hurt. My betas were off the charts high and kept rising, even with the progesterone drop.

My HCG did not double and my Prog dropped to 8 and was on Endometrin I am now almost 25 weeks Pregnant.

at my first blood test, my progesterone was a 1.8, followed up 48 hours later the HCG doubled but progesterone dropped to a 1.4, same thing happened 48 hours later. Dr had me rush in for a sono to make sure it wasnt ectopic...and thankfully it wasnt. Got on progesterone suppositories even thought my doctor said she had never seen a pregnancy survive with such low numbers and gave me all the info about miscarriages. I have a healthy 2 year old

be your own advocate...if all looks good at the sono but the progesterone is still low, as for supplements just to be safe.

Thanks! These comments have made feel more hopeful and a bit better. Me Doctor put me on the progesterone supplements when it went from a 14.4 to an 11, so thankfully he was being proactive.
