When is it ok for your LO to sleep on their stomach?
DD is only 7 months and rolls back to belly good but has only gone belly to back once. Some nights she loves rolling onto her stomach and holding her head up when I put her to bed. I've tried rolling her back but she rolls right back to her stomach. Tonight I tried to hang out next to the crib and prevent her from rolling but once I gave up she fell asleep on her stomach a couple minutes later and I rolled her onto her side. What age is ok to sleep on their stomach?

When they started rolling on their stomachs I wouldn't flip them back.

Once they roll there it's fine but you're supposed to still put them in on their back. DD is 7 mos too and is officially a belly sleeper. She rolls on to her belly almost immediately. I used to roll her back once she was asleep but even in her sleep she'd roll back. She's starting to roll back on her own more and more and her neck strength has gotten significantly better since becoming a belly sleeper.

Once DS rolled himself over to his belly there was no stopping him.

we didn't let them sleep on their belly until after 12 months. But my ped. was huge on this and drilled it into us. He isn't a real stickler about many things - but this he was.

Once DS could roll, I let him sleep however he felt comfortable. Plus, I don't have a video monitor so I wouldn't even know if he rolled over.

I always put her down on her back but if she rolled over on her own, I left her. She was a side sleeper for a while...like me

I always put DS on his back but once he learned to roll over he would be on his stomach whenever I checked on him.

At 4 months, both of my boys were belt sleepers. I tried rolling the first one many times a night, but by the time i got to the door, he was already on his belly.

My DD has been sleeping on her belly since she was 4 months. The pediatrician told me I had to keep flipping her over but that just wasn't realistic. She was rolling both ways since then, so we just let her continue to do it. I was nervous for a few weeks, peaking over at her multiple times a night, but now I don't worry as much.
