Hotel in NYC
Possibly going to a concert at MSG or the Barcleys in Nov. Any recommendations on where to stay?

In Brooklyn, the Aloft is good and not far from Barclays.
In the city, you can usually get good rates at the Empire or the Hudson. Both are very nice and on the west side so you can hop on the train a couple of stops to MSG.

I am a fan of the Muse. Not right near MSG but def can walk it on a nice evening or a few stops on the subway.
If you want to stay out near Barclays then I would suggest the Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown. I just stayed there for a race I did and I was shocked at how nice it was. Not amazing but a nice place. Walking distance to Barclays

Well if you want an amazing view at an affordable price, check out the new Marriott Residence Inn Central Park. Floor to ceiling windows, and the corner rooms are awesome! We have stayed there twice, first time with a park view, second with a Times Sq./River view. Love it there. A hike from MSG though!
