transporting a car

does anyone have a company they would recommend to transport a vehicle? Seems a lot of them have bad reviews online so I would love a personal recommendation

transporting a car

I used a company called J&S Transportation back in August to ship a car from NC to upstate NY. It was super smooth coordinating it, and my sister had the car within a day (doesn't always move that fast though, from what I had read...)

transporting a car

Both times we've done this (my job coordinated and paid for it) DHs car has been damaged and it was a hassle to get reimbursed for it.

Whoever you use make sure your car is clean when they pick it up, so they can do a good inspection and expect that any damage done, if it's under 2 inches (small dents, chips in windshield, etc) will be called "normal wear and tear" and won't be paid for.

Re: transporting a car

We transported 2 cars from NY to FL and had a great experience both times. We use JoCar based out of LI. With the 1st car, the car was picked up on Friday and my DH was to meet the car in FL on Monday. Unfortunately, he woud up needing emergency surgery that weekend and couldn't fly down. The driver from JoCar in FL held the car for DH for a week at his house at no extra charge and delivered to DH once DH was able to fly to FL. No damage to either car.

Mind sharing who you used so I know who to avoid?

I used the above company not for me but for my boss. They transported a car from Waco, TX to Rockland County, NY. They were really good and kept us informed the whole time.

Dependable Auto shippers and Relotrans. Would NEVER recommend either.

We had someone start a job here a few months ago. He got a call that his two cars that were being transported were now convertibles because the truck drove under a low bridge in NJ.
