Re: Poll - Was your baby vaccinated at birth in the hospital for Hepatitis B? (pg mom debating)
Yes, he had it at birth. I actually didn't know he had it done and it was not on the pediatrician records since it was done at the hospital. We had to track it down and it was a bit of a pain. Could not enroll DS in kindergarten without proof of the vaccine.

Poll - Was your baby vaccinated at birth in the hospital for Hepatitis B? (pg mom debating)
No, I am not infected and thus see no reason to give the vaccine to a newborn.

Re: Poll - Was your baby vaccinated at birth in the hospital for Hepatitis B? (pg mom debating)
Nope! Both my kids (separate births) were born respiratory distress and spent time in the nicu so we choose to hold off on anything not necessary to be done asap because they had too much else going on. The dr gave it to them about a month later.

Re: Poll - Was your baby vaccinated at birth in the hospital for Hepatitis B? (pg mom debating)
No. I wanted it done in the quiet and more sanitary environment of my peds office where I would be able to see the vial/vaccine being drawn up. Less chance for a mistake or infection. Hospitals are filthy places and way too hectic for an unnecessary injection.

Poll - Was your baby vaccinated at birth in the hospital for Hepatitis B? (pg mom debating)
No we had it done at his first ped visit the day after we got home. We have done all his other shots on schedule. We waited only because we weren't seeing our pediatrician in the hospital and I just felt more comfortable waiting till we saw our doctor.

Re: Poll - Was your baby vaccinated at birth in the hospital for Hepatitis B? (pg mom debating)
No for my first DD, yes for my second. They use to have guidelines that it shouldn't be given until a baby was 5lbs. That is no longer the case, but we took my first home a 4lbs, 5 oz - so I waited until she hit 5lbs before she got her first vaccine.

Poll - Was your baby vaccinated at birth in the hospital for Hepatitis B? (pg mom debating)
With my 1st, I didn't. I gave birth at NYU where my selected ped did not have rights and so I waited to give it at the first office visit. With my second, I gave birth at a hospital that my ped did have rights at, so he gave it to her on day 2 at the hospital.

Poll - Was your baby vaccinated at birth in the hospital for Hepatitis B? (pg mom debating)
My twins were in the NICU for 30 days and did not get it in the hospital. They got it at their first ped visit a couple days after they were discharged from the hospital. With my youngest he also got it at his first pediatrician visit.
