Sleep training
It's been a while since i was last on here.
My daughter is 9 months old, she was always a great sleeper, she started sleeping thru the night at 14 weeks. Every once in a while she would wake at in the middle of the night and i would feed her (maybe that was my mistake), fast forward a few months and she got a very nasty cold which lasted over week and we put her in our bed to monitor her fever and congestion. During that week she woke up constantly during the night which is understandable... here I am a month later she's back in her crib but now she wakes up every 2 to 3 hours at night.
What should I do to get her to sleep again thru the night? Many people have suggested letting her cry it out, but I just cant do that to her.
Please tell me I'm not alone, and that it gets better with time.
Any suggestions?

Re: Sleep training
This is exactly what happened with my DD. At 2 months she started sleeping through the night, I did nothing, she just did it on her own. At 6 months she had croup and two nasty ear infections and it just ruined everything. It would take us about 2.5 hours to even put her to sleep and she'd wake up like 3 or 4 times a night. It just got worse and worse- she started waking up every 45 minutes. I thought I was going to lose it, so I just started taking her to bed with me. That worked well for awhile but after awhile she wouldn't settle down in bed or she'd sleep really restlessly and we continued to get no sleep. This went on for 2 months and I finally said I had enough- new year, new approach.
Unfortunately, we did have to CIO starting just 2 weeks ago. The first night was a little tough, but I kept going in to her about every 5 minutes and I'd sing her Beauty and the Beasts Tale as Old as Time because that always seems to calm her and put her to sleep. I'd rub her back, kiss her goodnight, and leave again. She'd start crying, but it would be a little less loud or more broken up each time. It wasn't fun but the first night was the only really bad night- it lasted maybe an hour of me going back and forth. The next night I only had to go into the room once. Last night, she was asleep in under a minute. I KNOW it's the last thing you want to do and it might not even work as well for your LO, but I just wanted to share my experience. I feel like a new person and even DD has been so much better- she's less cranky during the day, her daycare has even said what a difference. I hope you are all getting some rest soon, whatever you decide to do!

Re: Sleep training
What are you doing when she wakes up in the motn? Are you feeding her? Rocking her?

No we never pick her up, either bottle feed her or put her paci back on (which she only uses for the night).

Sleep training
My son is 9 months yesterday and just hit a sleep regression. I know that's what it is so I'm going to wait it out. He was an amazing sleeper and just started waking up out of nowhere. I don't do CIO, I have tried it and it just doesn't work for us. We hit something similar at the 4.5 month mark and waited it out. I look at it as it's developmental and necessary. He grew out of the 4.5 month sleep regression so I'm expecting the same out of this one.
