using school playgrounds after hours?

We used to do this when I was a child. Is it still allowed? What time would it be ok, after 4? Or, do schools use it later for after care programs?

ETA- a public kindergarten playground, where my children don't go to the school.

Other than during rec sports where they have soccer games at the school fields we never use the public school playgrounds. I also think we used them when we were younger bc there was no rec center playgrounds. Where we live there are so many local playgrounds. Either at the rec center (there are 2 separate there), local parks, etc.

Have you checked the local rec center?

I don't think there's a problem with using the public school playgrounds on weekends, but with so much after school events and security they may not be too happy with people out there after school
I could be totally wrong though. I live in Central NJ so may be different by us

We use the one near us sometimes. They keep the kindergarten playground locked outside school hours so we use the other one. I think after 4 is fine as long as the school isn't using it. We mostly do weekend and there are usually other people there if the weather is nice.

We've used the one in the next town over anytime after school has let out. its a big place for families to congregate and play. So yes still do it and you are safe I think anytime after 3:15...

We use them a lot. There aren't many good town playgrounds in our town and you need to be a town resident of our neighboring towns to use their town playgrounds so it gives us options.

We've never had an issue.

In my district, each elementary school has an aftercare program so they don't allow anyone to use the playground until after 5:30 because they bring the children out twice in the afternoon. I'm very happy with this rule because my son goes to aftercare and I wouldn't want just anybody being allowed to be there.

We go to ours all the time, mostly on the weekends but sometimes during the weeknights. I just keep an eye out and if I ever saw a group of kids emerge from the building to use it, I'd head out. I never have though.

Yes we do but we can't till 4:30 due to after care. We can on weekends. We have many playgrounds in town parks as well, but my son likes to visit his school playground too.

I see kids at the local school playground every weekend. I am unaware of any public playgrounds in the area.
