You mean from Scholastic?
We only get the fliers once every few months.

I have to be honest- I am not a fan of buying books. We go to the library every week.
She picks out about 7 or 8 books.
She isn't one to read the same book over and over- she gets bored. So I find purchasing books a waste to be honest- she will read it once and then never look at it again.
She likes the variety of the library- and this way I dont' have to store books in my already cluttered house.

I limited it to once a year - one book per kid.

We have so many books and frequent the library as well.

Every couple of months each kid gets to pick one book from the flyer. So i'd say we spend about $12 each time we order.

Chat Icon Few months ago a little over $100 and last nights order was $79. Our oldest is an avid reader and has a collection of books so worth it to us.

Try to buy one from Scholastic, they help out the teachers as well. And they have books as cheap as $2

No I do buy them here and there- because she loves getting them.
Just not a ton. Like I said she likes quantity and variety when it comes to books so the library is great.

Also, we have SOOO much clutter in our house (and a very tiny house) and to be honest, DH and I just had to clean out a bookshelf in our living room (adult books, not hers) because we are getting new furniture and we are just donating all our books. I have no use for a book once I read it once. I am not one to read a book again.
I have decided I am only buying myself books on Kindle going forward or borrowing "real' books from the library if I want an old school book. What a waste of money and space all those books were that we are now donating.

Re: How much do you spend on book orders?

I only buy during the book fair. They have one twice a year. We go to the library every week. My kids read tons of books. We have tons of books in our house. Sometimes books will get read more than once but many times they just get read once.

I send $10 for the book fair and don't do the scholastic book order. I'm never impressed by the books they have and I'd much rather borrow from the library. I hate having so much clutter.

We don't order from Scholastic- we have SO many books already!! We do the book fair though- my oldest is in K, and his school had a book fair last week. I sent in $20 the day his class visited and he brought home 3 books.

Re: How much do you spend on book orders?

We are seriously swimming in books so I don't order at all. I only get something when he goes to the book fair. Seriously...we could open up our own local library.

Some months nothing some months a bunch. I would guess it averages out to $10-$15 a month. We stink with returning library books on time so I rather just buy them lol
I can't say no to books as long as its an actual book and not one of the character books like shopkins.
We also find books that normally I only see in hardcover for much cheaper as paperback. I love those.

Usually between $10-$20 each time the flier comes home, but DS is an avid reader so it's worth it.

Re: How much do you spend on book orders?

I have a ton of books but I do order through scholastic because that is how a lot of teachers stock their libraries. And kids don't always treat books from their libraries great so these are constantly updated! We usually spend 10.
