2 month old bedtime
I have a 2 month old daughter who I'm struggling to put down before 12:30 am every night. She is fornula fed every 3-4 hours and takes naps during the day (some days less than others). She is a great sleeper at night..goes down around 12:30 and up around 8:30-9. However, I will be going back to work and I'm struggling to get her to sleep before 12:30. I could feed her at 9:00 or 11:00 at night but she still won't go to sleep until 12:30. Any suggestions??

2 month old bedtime
At 2 months go kinda have to go with the flow. They are way too young to be put on a schedule imo. Plus it changes so fast that you willl work towards it and then it will change just when you think you have it set.

This exactly, at 2 months there is no rhyme or reason to anything.

Re: 2 month old bedtime
I went back to work at about 10 weeks with my first and did have him on a schedule by that point (It does change at times, but then you can tweak it). I'd say move bedtime by 15 minutes very few days (3-4). You also have to wake him up earlier by 15 minutes when you move the time. After a while, you get an hour. I know a lot of people say it can't be done... but I see it as a time zone adjustment. Yes, at first there is jetlag... but the kids ultimately adjust.
Don't forget, we change clocks in the spring... so factor that in.

I disagree about being too young-both my kids were going to bed by 730 by 4 weeks, but I started their routine day one home from the hospital

Re: 2 month old bedtime
Try putting her down 15 minutes earlier every 2-3 days. She's too early for a set schedule, but her circadian rhythm will start to kick in around 3 months, so you can help kick start that now.

I agree same here. They slept thru the night at 8 weeks and were in bed by 7/730 from day 1. They also only slept in the crib from day 1.

Re: 2 month old bedtime
At 2 months old it was survival. Actually it was survival for a lot longer than that, but that's another story.
I could have tried to set a "bedtime" but it would never have worked. DD was just up every 2-3 hours so what difference does it make.
You can't force a baby to follow the "rules" or a routine.
An infant doesn't know from a routine. They are driven solely by needs at that young age- hunger, discomfort, pain, etc.
For those saying their babies had a set bedtime early, it's not because you started a routine early- it's because the baby just happened to be a good sleeper. Luck of the draw. A routine meant NOTHING to my baby. Trust me I tried

Re: 2 month old bedtime
You should count your blessings that she sleeps for 8-9 hrs straight. I don't think 2m olds are on any schedule and if they were, it would probably change.

at 2 months, we were just getting DD on a schedule. She was doing the same as your baby, but we just kept trying to put her down at 7pm each night until it stuck. We did a whole routine with the bath at 6:30pm, PJs, book, and bottle. by 11 weeks, she was sleeping from 730-730

2 months no schedule. 3 months and she set her own schedule which worked well when I went back to working in the city.
Not looking forward to nb schedules once this little bean is born.

2 month old bedtime
Around 9-10 weeks, my DS was sleeping 9-8. Then he regressed from 4-22 months and decided sttn was optional and that mommy should be a zombie! At 4 months, he went to bed at 8:30 and we eventually moved it up to 7:30.

Re: 2 month old bedtime
When In general is her closest nap to bedtime? She may really need that bottle at 12:30 to make it through 9 hrs. without eating.
