Ooof---Those are some tough choices.
Gonna be a lotta hungry people leaving that wedding.
Agreed!!! Why would anyone in their right mind push their own taste on someone else?!? Ugh good luck!!

Re: Vegan wedding girl back
To me those all sound really good. I'm not vegan but I don't love eating meat so much either. I like how it's different from the usual boring chicken, beef, fish.

The Quiona stuffed pepper would be my number 1 choice! I actually make that often and I'm not vegan. My second would be the Portobello.
This! Plus I'm sure they'll have plenty of yummy food in the cocktail hour.
Read my story on the other thread lol not so sure about that
Did the tomato taste in any special way? Maybe the secret was in the spices? I'd have so recorded ur DH's reaction!

Re: Vegan wedding girl back
The tofu & portobello are probably the most filling. I think I'd get the get the portobello. The vegetarian option at my wedding was grilled portobello w/ polenta.
I'm not the biggest fan of quinoa, but a lot of non vegans eat that (I'd love that if it was rice) My husband said he would eat the pepper or the tofu.
If it was a vegetarian (not vegan) wedding, I'd get the lasagna.
I agree with CT weddings being different. I went to one that was so pretty- it look like it sprung right up off of Pinterest, but the cocktail hour was cheese & crackers and 1 or 2 passed hors d'oeuvres, and the dinner was a very simple buffet, and they started running out of things by the time they called my table.
At least this is a sit down dinner. There will probably be a salad course, too. I wouldn't get my hopes up for vegan wedding cake though!

Vegan wedding girl back
You couldn't pay me to eat McDonald's, so any of this sounds fine! I'm not a vegan, but these don't sound so bad. Portobello for me!

Re: Vegan wedding girl back
The portobello mushroom or stuffed pepper both sound good to me.
I tried being vegan for a really short period of time (2 weeks) Andy I found it so hard to cut out diary... no meat I can handle but no dairy was so difficult for me.

Re: Vegan wedding girl back
I stopped eating meat back in Oct. Haven't gone full vegan so these options look pretty good to me I'd probably go with the stuffed pepper. I make something similar but it has black beans added to it. It's really good! But Im a fan of quinoa.

Re: Vegan wedding girl back
I don't eat vegtables so there is nothing on that menu to eat. Whats the kid choice? I would probably choose that
is there no pasta dish that is vegan that could have been offer. IMO assuming everyone would like one of those dishes is a waste of money for the couple; if people won't eat the food

I agree - there probably should have been a pasta dish of some kind..... I dont' really eat vegetables either - at least not by choice, so it would be rough.

Well there is lasagna listed. I would hope that veggie lasagna would be pasta, veggies, and sauce without a cheese substitute but you never know.
Simple pasta with oil, garlic, and broccoli would probably attract a lot of people though.

But then again they would probably reject it because it would be vegan pasta.
I'm really surprised at everyone's responses. I guess I love vegetables more than a normal person. I am a huge meat eater and there are 3 choices there I would try. More than what I would choose at a 'regular' wedding. (I dont want fish and chicken usually is horrible at weddings.)

Yes, other than egg noodles most pasta would be fine.
The only thing I wouldn't try wouldn't the portabella bc I don't like mushrooms but I would be game for anything else!

Most (all non vegan?) pasta contains eggs, not just 'egg noodles'.
ETA: Seems that fresh pasta contains egg. Boxed pasta doesn't. Interesting.
So I guess if they would feed them box pasta they would be OK with it, if fresh then no good.

Wendy's yes please I used to eat Taco Bell a lot. Now I get a yucky tummy from it You'd think by the way I was talking I was a health freak or something but I am not. I am fat, I eat too much, but what I eat is clean. Except Nutella. Kryptonite

I would assume most catering halls don't make their own pasta for weddings, so it would most likely be boxed/premade anyway, yes

I wouldn't reject the pasta just because its vegan cause honestly I would think its normal pasta anyway! The problem with a vegeatble lasagana its all vegies.
Can they not do like ala vodka? Regular pasta sauce something that doesn't contain tons of vegetables

Vegan wedding girl back
I am not a big veggie person except for the steamed stuff in bags that I feed my kids PLEASE DONT JUDGE ME. I don't like mushrooms in fact I pretend that I'm allergic to them like my mother in law does. Sorry but I love Wendys, Taco Bell and even a good chicken sandwich from Burger King and my kids do eat Mc Donalds maybe once every two months or so. It will be interesting to see what is offered at the cocktail hour. I asked her if she was having one and she never responded to me.

ala vodka sauce has cream and butter. no bueno for a vegan.
unless they can make a vegan version of it. not sure how that would taste. probably not much like ala vodka sauce
