I didn't even know there was a Politics board for at least a month or two after it was made.

For example, people on that board were up in arms blaming trump for the threats of attack on the jccs. It was crickets when that turned out to be the furthest thing from the truth.
I noticed the same thing but did not state such. It's a breath of fresh air to have all that on another board finally.

Plus since the politics board was made, FHF kinda came back to life with regular posts. I guess the people who couldn't stand even coming to the boards, came back to use them again.

I agree - not only has it slowed down, it's filled with parenting posts. Years ago that would never be.
The politics board has pushed all left-leaning opinions to the corner as far as I'm concerned. I don't need to know how people who think similarly to me feel about whatever travesty is being perpetrated on our goverment today, I want to know how people who think differently than I do feel about it. That's all anyone ever wanted. Admittedly some people couldn't resist yelling at people for having those views, but it just feels like people either think the complete bastardization of democracy is perfectly acceptable or they would just rather go back to paying no attention whatsoever to the blatant mishandling of our government.
I will say I really do appreciate those few who are willing to go there and offer their opinion, regardless of the reception they receive. I personally need someone to offer me a different perspective from mine, because if it's not clear from my preceding paragraph, mine is pretty dismal.

Maybe it just seems busier because I'm able to find posts easier? When there were the anti trump posts (let's all Be honest, that's what It was) I couldn't see anything but them clogging up FHF. Now... I feel like there's a new ? Everyday on FHF that I can participate in. And without ridicule - which is a nice change.

Agree 1000%.
And yes this board is slower now since there are no longer 1000 political threads essentially on the same topic but IMO it just reverted to it's normal traffic pre-election. Anyone whose been active on these boards for years such as myself knows that in the past few years the traffic on LIF in general has declined tremendously.

Of the 25(?) threads on page 1 of FHF, at least half can be relegated to other boards on this website.
Parenting, relationships, finance etc., home, health, dining...
