22 months apart
Do I NEED a double stroller? I usually put my DS in the shopping cart at stores. I don't use a stroller much but am wondering if it would be a good idea to have with two... or just a huge waste of money

22 months apart
Mine are 23 months apart. I don't trust DD to stay with me all the time so I needed one. Also DH and I work opposite schedules so we never see each other and so I have to take them places alone.
A lot of people recommended city select but it's SO HEAVY. I wanted a tandem and not a side by side. So I got the joovy caboose and purchased a second seat for the back. It was a lot cheaper, and it's only 22 pounds. You could also not have the second seat and it's a a sit n stand.

We're 27 months, and before ds was born I was at the point of rarely using the stroller. I was surprised at how much I've used the double though, and I'm glad I got it

Re: 22 months apart
Depends on season & you.
Mine were 18 mo apart. I used a double stroller when the baby was 4 months through the summer. In the winter, DH and I would go places together, so each had a child.
By the next Spring, she was 1.5 years old and wanted to walk. DS was 3 & both walked everywhere. We had the stroller in our garage, but never used it.
I'd recommend to get a double for that early period... but get it as cheap as possible or second hand. The only exception is if you are planning on exercising with kids in the stroller.

22 months apart
There are times I need it. It's just too difficult to do any kind of shopping with my 2 year old not in a stroller or shopping cart.

Mine are 24 months apart. We only really use it at the zoo, city, walks, etc. we def get use out of it, but it's not a daily thing.
We got the joovy x2 which I love and we also have a sit and stand. Both have diff uses and both were relatively inexpensive. I couldn't see spending a ton on something we rarely use.

Re: 22 months apart
My 2 are about 3 years apart. My oldest wasn't really using a stroller before the baby was born. However, when he saw us pushing the baby in a stroller he got very jealous. We ended up getting a joovy sit and stand stroller, which surprisingly we use often.

22 months apart
My kids are 3.5 years apart. But I use the double stroller for taking long walks. Other than that I don't use it much, but back when my 1st was 2 years old she still rode in the stroller often, so I would think at that age a double stroller would come in handy often.

Re: 22 months apart
Mine are exactly 22 months apart and I used the double stroller all the time. When DS 2 was an infant I used the tandem with the infant car seat all the time for walks and any kind of shopping or outing. When DS 2 was big enough for the Mclaren I used that side by side. To me it was easier if I wanted to go somewhere especially alone to have them both strapped in. Also we could take walks or go places and when DS 1 got tired he could sit. I still use it sometimes and they are 4 and 5.

I got the Joovy x2 also. It was a GREAT deal. I think I had coupon and did open box. Well under $200 and it did well. Also wasn't worried leaving it at zoo, beach, etc. Not the lightest, but roomy for my wide shouldered kids. Easy to fold and steered well enough.

Re: 22 months apart
Mine are 26 months apart and we use the double stroller for outings, trips to the parks, walks, etc. I think it really depends on what you do. If just shopping and going from car to house it is not necessary but if you are active and out and about it is definitely helpful

Re: 22 months apart
I think so. My kids are 28 months apart and I used the double A LOT when the younger one was born. They're 4 and (almost) 2 now and we hardly use it except for big outings like the zoo.

Re: 22 months apart
I would say yes. Mine are 15 months apart so it's a little different but if you want to go for a walk or something, you should have it. My guy will be 22 months this week and I always keep him in the stroller

Re: 22 months apart
Yes! Absolutely needed the double stroller and used it a lot in the beginning. Good for the mall, trips, walks, zoo, amusement parks, touring, etc. Best part was even when my older DS would want to walk I just used his side to throw jackets in or my bags. It folds so easily now and flat and still thin enough to fit through a lot. My younger DS is so lazy so when he was 4 we just moved back to the single stroller for places where we'd walk a lot bc I couldn't take the complaining.

I still use my double stroller for my almost 2 year old and my almost 5 year old who gets too tired or falls asleep when we are out.

Re: 22 months apart
Mine are 22 months apart and we used the double stroller a lot especially if we were going places that required a lot of walking. My older ds was only 2ish so would get tired and need to sit.
