my kids birthday coming up and I'm so bored with what I usually do. I either
- order from Italian place (pizzas, eggplant rollatini, pasta, etc etc)
- chili, mac & cheese

any new ideas?

Ive catered Greek (make your own gyros/souvlaki, spanakopita, moussaka, Greek salad) and it was a hit.

Make your own tacos/burritos

Last year I did a hot dog bar for dds birthday. I made chili, pulled pork, mac n cheese and had a bunch of other toppings. My family and friends got really creative with combinations and my in laws and the kids had plain hot dogs and mac n cheese lol.

Re: Go to party menu

For that amount what about a sub for the adults. American, Italian or chicken cutlet (or mix it up). you could also do wraps.

For the kids we usually do chicken fingers and fries or pizza bagels.

A salad on the side or pasta salad, etc and call it a day. LOL

You could go more all American: heroes, coleslaw, potato salad, chicken wings!!

You can have fun with Mexican food: taco bar or nacho bar. Offer different kinds of chips, or soft and hard shelled tacos, offer a variety of toppings and fillings, etc.

You could do Chinese buffet, order a bunch of different dishes and some rice.

You can do a breakfast party menu: Bagels (with cream cheese or butter), egg Salad, quiche or frittatas, hash browns, muffins or coffee cake, etc.
