Dinner Menu - need help

We have two other families that we all take turns and do a family dinner. My last time was over the summer and we grilled.
it's my turn again! I don't mind cooking, but still self conscious when it comes to cooking for a big company unless it's something like baked ziti

Thoughts on a menu?

We start with apps -
moz sticks
pigs in a blanket
dips and chips
cheese and crackers

Dinner -
thinking baked ziti or lasagna
salad
garlic bread
steamed veggies

dessert -
cakes and ice cream

We always have lots of drinks. LOL!
Kids are between 13 and 6. I can do nuggets, fries and/or pasta and whatever we have. They usually sit (if they sit at all) at the kitchen table and we're in the dining room

Sounds good.
If you want a really "wow" baked ziti recipe- check out the Pioneer Woman's recipe.
I get RAVES about it every time I make it.

That looks good, but when is it? Depending on their families, they might have had lots of pasta over the holidays. I’d be perfectly happy not to look at pasta for a few weeks!

What about a big chicken pot pie or something lelse that can be prepared ahead of time instead of baked ziti? Lemon chicken?

I would do a chicken dish in addition to the ziti. Or maybe meatballs? Some kind of meat.

Even just a nice simple breaded chicken cutlet goes well with the baked ziti.
