Disney Dining Questions
1. Is the 2018 Disney Dining Plan Worth it?
2. Is Cinderella's Royal Table worth either the 2 dining credits or the OOP $ ?
We are doing Hollywood and Vine Dinner, Tusker House Dinner, Be OUr Guest Dinner, Bon Voyage Breakfast, T Rex Dinner and either Cinderella's Royal Castle or Ohana Dinner.

Re: Disney Dining Questions
CRT is neat...the concept is amazing! But it's not worth two dining credits to me...we did akershus last time and I thought it was a much better experience. We lived the food (but it's not for super picky eaters). I also love ohana and it is necessary for us every trip. The whole experience is fun and the food is great!

The dining plan is worth it when you have a lot of character meals booked because those are the most expensive meals.
CRT is a great experience and you should do at least once especially if you have princess fans. With that being said, I would pay OOP for CRT and do the breakfast since breakfast is always the cheaper meal.

The 2018 dining plan is more expensive than the 2017, but it includes alcohol. If you don’t drink you’re paying for it anyway. If you do a lot of character meals, it’s worth it bc those are expensive. I will say it’s a lot of food. It’s a TON of snacks. Again, you’re paying for all those snacks whether you use them or not. On our last morning we had A LOT left over so I brought home snacks.
We loved CRT. We paid oop. It’s not worth using two credits though. It doesnt make sense. We were on the ddp and still paid oop.
We loved the bon voyage breakfast. Do it on your Epcot or HS day bc they’re both right there.

Re: Disney Dining Questions
Dining plan is worth it! For CRT we used our 2 dining credits but we had the deluxe dining plan. I think CRT is worth it which ever way you choose to pay for it. It was one of the highlights of our trip. My girls loved being able to see all the princesses and the food is pretty good.

Ohana!! The food is amazing. I’ve heard the food at crt is not worth the 2 table credits.

Disney Dining Questions
When I was planning, I saw a website that had prices at all the restaurants so you could add up and see if the dining plan cost is worth it. We didn't end up staying onsite, so we didn't really look into it.
We like CRT for the princesses and that you are in the castle. My girls love character dining so it's worth it for us.

Disney Dining Questions
There’s something very special about eating in the castle. My children absolutely love eating there when we go to Disney. If you haven’t done it, you should do it at least once. Breakfast, for adults, is in the $60 pp range. Lunch/Dinner is $80. If I were paying out of pocket, I’d personally do lunch or dinner. The thought of paying $60 for eggs or waffles is something I just can’t wrap my head around.

Re: Disney Dining Questions
Wow now they include alcohol in the dining plan? I went a few months ago and found the plan worth it, especially if you are doing character meals.
We plan to go again (so far) December 2019. Hopefully Toy Story Land and Star Wars land will be done by then!

Re: Disney Dining Questions
I thought CRT was worth it, it really is special, I would def do it again. We used the 2 credits and then just paid oop for a cheaper meal ( I think we paid oop for trex or the plaza)

Disney Dining Questions
As a vacation club member, I'm there fairly often. DH & I have not purchased the dining plan in years. If you work out the costs, you really need to order the most expensive thing on the menu at every restaurant to get your money's worth.

We recently bought into DVC... do you do Tables in Wonderland? We saved a fortune while dining!

Yes we do. We prefer appetizer to dessert, so TIW always works out better for us. But, we do save the receipts and compare, compare, compare. We have yet to discover a trip where the dining plan would have saved us money over full cost of what we ate.

Re: Disney Dining Questions
I have also never had it be worthwhile to use the Dining Plan. It has wound up costing more money than we would have paid out of pocket for sure. Plus, I don't like the scheduled type of dining. One counter service one sit down, whatever. We prefer to do what we want...maybe two sit down meals one day, none the next. We have owned DVC for fifteen years now. It's just not worth it for us, but everyone vacations differently. We have the full kitchen when we go so we always eat breakfast in the room.
Have a wonderful trip!!!
