Northport or East Northport?
What is the difference between the two? I know some parts of both areas are East Northport-Northport school district. Is it basically the same area? Is there any difference? Is one area more desirable, safer? Any areas we should stay away from? Would appreciate any feedback, thank you!

Re: Northport or East Northport?
east northport is a little further from downtown and is closer to the highways, businesses etc.
i dont think any part is bad?
most areas have low taxes, i've seen a few high ones in east northport-- and northport you have the village taxes if you are close enough.
Try to stay off the main roads.
Also, for tons of years they have talked about putting a low income development By elwood & pulaski crossing but i dont know what ever happened with that...?

Not overly familiar with the areas, but I don't think there's really any bad parts. And just an FYI, parts of E. Northport are in Commack Schools, which are very highly rated

Re: Northport or East Northport?
I think part of east northport also may go to elwood.
I'd also look into the issues at northport middle school if you decide to buy a house that is zoned for that middle school.
And I agree that there really are no "bad" parts but definitely stay away from houses that are on the main roads.
