Tubal Ligation
Not sure where to post...
Has anyone had a tubal ligation? Any thoughts or regrets? I will be 38 and am done with kids. Husband would keep going but I know I am done. Just looking for some feedback.

Tubal Ligation
I had it done in combination with my last c section. I have had no complaints, I feel as though this the best choice for us.

Same. But my recovery was tough I had a lot of pain and bleeding. I don’t necessarily regret it, but I know it was the best choice for us

Re: Tubal Ligation
I had it done in August right before I turned 35. My dr asked several times I was sure cause I was so young and I was like I am not that young and yes I am ready!! I have no regrets we have 2 kids a boy and a girl. I don't enjoy being pregnant and not that I had bad pregnancies I just didn't like it. I only really wanted 2 so I am good. Also at this point even if my DH divorced I would still not want kids if I found someone else after him. DS sealed any doubt I may have had we have been potty training now for 2 years and he still hasn't gotten it!! The thought of never having to potty train another kid again excites me!!! I always said I would conisder adopting if I really want another kid. If that ever came it would have to be one that is potty trained already
recovery for me really wasn't that bad. I never even took the pain meds they gave me but I do have a somewhat high tolerance for pain most times. I did bleed but apparently not much to worry about according to what I was supposed to be worried about. The hardest part was not driving for the weekend (had it done on a Friday) and not lifting. DS loves to be carried but surprisingly he understood I couldn't pick him for a week.

Tubal Ligation
I actually had my tubes removed almost 6 weeks ago during my c section. Best choice for us.

Tubal Ligation
I regret not doing it. When I got pregnant with #2, I immediately decided I wanted it done (I was having a scheduled c section). Said the whole pregnancy that I was going to do it, and then the doubt crept in in the last month. I'm still early 30s, so even though I was certain I was done, what if I change my mind. Now a year later, I wish I had just done it. I hate dealing with birth control. We really couldn't afford another kid if we wanted, and I don't want it. I'm counting down the days to being done with formula, baby food, diapers, spit-up, etc. We're getting rid of all the baby stuff as he outgrows it. I feel like I have my body back after two kids close together. I knew I'd be done, so I should have just done it. Now even with birth control I'm worried a third will happen by accident. I'm trying to convince my husband to get a vasectomy, but that's not going anywhere, so I may have to consider tubal litigation again.

Re: Tubal Ligation
all my cousins and sister have had it done. i have never heard any regrets from any of them.
i'm the only one who hasn't had it done. i'll be 45 this month and am the only one in the bunch with only one kid. there's a part of my heart that just wants to leave the option there... although i know very well that i will never, ever have another kid. funny what the brain can do.
but... the original question. of all the women in my family who have more than one kid, i have never heard a single complaint. not even about the recovery. they are all very, very happy with their decision.

You can take a look. I am just so torn. I am considering staying on the pill or doing IUD. At least if I don't feel right I can stop taking the pill or reverse the IUD.
I don't want to scare you bc it could just be a small percent and the woman on here seemed to have no problem. Just do a lot of research.

Re: Tubal Ligation
have you considered having your husband get snipped? its much less invasive to have him get it done.

You can have an IUD removed. It’s just a device in your uterus. I have it and I don’t love it. I wish I’d gotten my tubes tied when I had my c-section but it was my first (and only) baby so my doctor was hesitant that I’d change my mind.

Re: Tubal Ligation
I did it after my 3rd child during my c-section and have regretted it ever since.
Ever since my tubal, I get EXTREMELY bad PMS (had to be medicated for it) and periods lasting from 7-10 days (of HEAVY bleeding with giant clots sometimes soaking a super plus tampon through in less than an hour. I was doubled up between heavy pads AND tampons).
I was someone before the tubal who had normal periods lasting 4-5 days and PMS was minimal.
Ever since, It has been horrible to the point that I am now on birth control pills to control my periods and PMS symptoms. I am MUCH better now that I am back on the pill.
My advice... don't do it. Get an IUD or have DH get a vasectomy. It has wreaked havoc on my body.
