Has anyone had their tubes removed (during c-section)?
I'm not sure if this is the right board to post in but here it goes. Hi all. This past June I had my third and final baby, so I decided to have my tubes removed (my doctor told me they now do this instead of tying them because some forms of cervical cancer form in the tubes, so they now remove them as a form of cancer prevention).
I think I might be starting to get my period, my first since the baby was born. I was just curious if anyone had any significant changes in their periods after having their tubes removed. It never dawned on me to ask my doctor if I should expect anything 'different' or if I would have any hormonal changes now. I guess that will be my next call.
Thanks so much.

i had no idea that's what they do now.
i still have all my girl parts and use an IUD. all the women in my immediate circle of people had it done years ago, so i have no idea of the new procedures.

From what I was told by my OB, as long as you still have your ovaries, your hormones should not be affected. I don't have this done though so I don't know. What I DO know is that my period after having a baby was 100% different than it ever was before. And it's now 8 years later and it's still that way so it never really went back to pre baby type periods..

Any change will probably just be due to post baby changes. My periods were drastically different since my son

Re: Has anyone had their tubes removed (during c-section)?
Thanks everyone! I was pretty sure there wouldn't be hormonal changes. I know my sister had her tubes tied a few years ago, and her periods are all messed up since then, but she also has auto-immune issues so I wasn't sure if that's why. After my first 2 kids my periods went back to normal, like clockwork - every 28 days. I guess I will have to wait and see.

My periods are now like clock work too. that's why they are so different than before I had my daughter. I used to have very irregular periods. I could go for months on end without one. Now it's much more like clockwork, I can tell when I ovulate, etc They are also heavier than they used to be pre child. I never needed Super Plus tampons before having her- now the first 2 days are like a crime scene.

Has anyone had their tubes removed (during c-section)?
I was just about to post about this on the pregnancy board...
My Dr is going to tie my tubes when i have my csection this time. He is going to be in there anyway so im just going to have it done. My husband offered to get snipped as well. My periods used to be like clockwork... before i got pregnant they were all over the place which is likely the reason i got pregnant in the first place... i no longer knew when for sure when i was going to ovulate.

Has anyone had their tubes removed (during c-section)?
I had a bilateral tubal ligation during my last c-section. The recovery was easy, and I didn't have any complications. Afterwards, my period was wonky! It didn't come as scheduled (I'm always regular), it came late, early, spotting, and cramping like a teenager! But that only lasted about a year... now, I'm back to normal. It was the best thing I ever did!
