why did no one warn me??
holy cow!
San Francisco is stupid expensive!!!!
SO and i will be going this weekend for our 5th anniversary... and because there's a fiber festival in Santa Clara  (but i didn't happen to plan it that way).
hardly any hotels offer free parking. ok, so i started checking how much parking would cost at these hotels, so i won't have sticker shock...
$85 a NIGHT!!! 
what the fukk?!
like really?
holy cow!
i'm starting to fear what going out to dinner is going to be like.
ps. if you have any recommendations on places to see, let me know.

Parking in SF is just as expensive as parking in NYC. It's nuts.
I love Tyler Florence's restaurant - the Wayfare Tavern. The fried chicken is unbelievable!

Is it less expensive to Uber or Lyft everywhere instead of parking? When we went to Florida this past summer we used Uber and Lyft instead of renting a car and were able save so much money. The car rental was $500, then a $45 per day parking fee, plus parking at Disney for two days, plus gas we estimated all in all we would have spent between $850 to 1000. With Uber and Lyft we spent $175 and tipped a lot for each ride too, plus the vehicles were exactly where we were and we did not have to bother remembering where we parked.
In nyc I use the spot hero app which saves so much money.

https://spothero.com I love this app. You tell it where you are going and the day time you will be there and then it shows you the least expensive nearby parking options. Then you pre pay for parking on the app. You really need to know when you will leave or they can charge more, so I over estimate by an hour to give me leeway, but it has been great every time I’ve used it. I’ve save so much money.

Yes. SF is very expensive. We found a cheap garage 2 blocks from our hotel which was on Geary. I got the deal on grpupon. I loved the Zuni Cafe. The rotisserie chicken for 2 is to die for.
