Anyone here send their kids to private/catholic school?
Just was curious for those who have to pay tuition to a private or catholic school. Are you still required to pay tuition while schools are closed? My DD goes to pre k at a catholic school and we pay monthly tuition and I believe at this point are still required to mail our monthly checks in. I was just curious what other private or catholic schools were doing.

Yes, we have to pay. My kids are still being taught, the teachers are still working. So, we have to pay. But this is for K-8, where there are zoom meetings and actual teaching going on.

Thanks, I was told by the principal pretty much that they can’t pay their teachers without the tuition. I just don’t feel like DDs teacher is really doing much besides posting coloring worksheets and a 4 min video of her reading a book.

My DD goes to a private pre-k. We are being credited one week’s tuition for March. Behind that I don’t know what they’re doing.
I am a very generous person and have been paying dance tuition, cleaning people, etc but even I draw the line at paying tuition if school is closed.

For Pre-k, I agree. But if your child is in Catholic school, in an elementary grade, the teachers are working very, very hard to teach these kids. Without tuition, they will not get paid.

Yes, if the teachers were working and the school paid them of course I’d still pay.
The teachers at DD’s school aren’t being paid. To my knowledge there was never any plan to pay them. If there were I’d happily pay the tuition during the closure.

My son is in private nursery school. We did get a reminder to pay the tuition. The teachers have not been in touch with us at all, other than a remind message to tell the kids they miss them. I don't know how I feel about it. He's not going so I shouldn't have to pay but I don't want the teachers to get screwed out of a paycheck either.

If they aren't paying their teachers, then no way would I pay!!

For my kids in elementary, they are still enrolled and these days still count as school. So, I still expect to pay. They are getting work from their teachers.
