Frontier changed my flight to day before- can I get refund?- UPDATE

So we were supposed to go to Orlando on Friday April 24 with Frontier. Obviously this is not happening but we haven't cancelled yet.

Today, I got an email that Frontier changed our flight and moved it to Thursday, April 23. Anyone have experience with this? Would I be able to get a refund?

We want to do this trip eventually (maybe in the Fall) but would rather get a refund than a credit for obvious reasons. I am wondering if I can get a refund since Frontier made the move and booked us on a flight a whole day earlier.

I can't find info on this on their website (just info on passengers changing flights- not Frontier doing it). Thanks.

Putting the current situation aside, how on God's green earth can an airline just decide that you wont' be flying on the day you booked and paid for and you'll now be flying on a day that THEY determined. Without even asking you?
You book a fight and plan around that. You can't just leave a day early or a day later. People can't just start their vacation a day early because the airline said so

Normally, an airline is required to give yo ua refund if the delay or change is "significant." I've never used Frontier, but this is the exact wording from their contract of carriage:

E. Schedule Change Prior to Day ofT ravel--When a passenger’s itinerary is changed because of a modification in Frontier’s schedule, arrangements will be made to:

1) Transport the passenger over its own route system to the destination; or

2) In the event the schedule modification is significant, at Frontier's discretion, it may refund the cost of the unused portion of the ticket.

I think you can put up a good argument for a refund since an entire day is an extremely significant delay in travel. You will have to call them to get the refund though.

I would call them. You are entitled to a refund. I am having similar issues with American Airlines right now trying to get a refund. If they don't issue a full refund in the next few days I will file a dispute with my credit card company.

I'd def call and ask for a refund since it wasn't you who made the change. If you get a credit I'm pretty sure Frontier makes you use it within 90 days. (I was looking into flying with them over the summer and I was looking up their policies just in case this isn't all over by then).

4/4/20 UPDATE: Thank you for the responses. I contacted Frontier via FB messenger the day I wrote my original post. Yesterday, they issued me a refund. They offered us a credit plus an additional $50 each but we just wanted our $$ back on our credit card.

I have flown Fronteir a number of times and this happened once and the other times the time always seems to change
For me it’s fine, my schedule is super flexible but it’s bizarre
