Also, to-go margaritas.

This is the BEST thing ever! My cousin and I stopped last week to pick up some drinks and it was like "did you ever think you'd be able to pull up somewhere and get one for-the-road?" lol. I mean obviously we didn't drink it in the car, but it was amazing to have a quality cocktail made for me. Not that they don't taste good when I make them, but it isn't always the same.

I also like that the Irish good bye has come into style. I have been training for this for years! Chat Icon

What's the Irish good bye?

You just leave and don't have to hug and kiss everyone. You sneak out. Chat Icon

Ohh! So, the exact opposite of the Italian good bye! I get it!Chat Icon

Irish goodbyes sound amazing. I hope it becomes a thing across the board. I'm not a fan of the drawn out Italian goodbye. Omg even on the phone good byes are drawn out and painful lol. I must have some Irish blood.

We've been doing this for years. Glad it's finally socially acceptable! lolChat Icon

If there are a lot of people I always try to sneak out. It gives me anxiety having to do the "good bye tour" as Robert from Everybody Loves Raymond put it lol

Same here Chat Icon

DH and I have always called it the Irish Exit.

I hate the "goodbye" so much that halfway through the event, I'm already planning our escape route.

To-go drinks are brilliant. Should have always been a thing.

A lot of restuarants are doing the adult capri suns. It's like a big juice pouch filled with booze.

No school shootings

I was about to say!

I don't think I've heard of any mass shootings since everything went down and there used to be a new shooting weekly practically. Mass shooters seem to be taking covid seriously Chat Icon Chat Icon (a little light-hearted humor to lighten the somber mood of the state of this country)

109 mass shootings in the US this year with 125 killed and over 407 injured. While I'm sure that number is way down from previous years, I think the news just hasn't been reporting on them as much.

Well there goes my theory Chat Icon

During the pandemic while everything closed?

I tired to count, looks like that 109 does not include any of Mays stats yet Chat Icon

So there have actually been 156 so far this year. There have been over 40 this month alone. Jan and Feb have about 28 each. March and April are similar. This month has had the most by far, the most deaths too (roughly 200 deaths this month alone). None of it looks protest related yet. Once protest violence is added in, there will probably be more.

The positive out come of COVID

Not having to wear makeup everyday.

I also like the fact that stores have reduced hours. It allows for time at home without FOMO. No late evening dashes to the store, instead more family evening time to relax.

Seeing neighbors spending more time outside. It's nice to go for a walk and see others in the neighborhood.

DH and I finally cleaned out our garage!!! We had so much stuff and gave it all away (kids old trikes, etc). The nice thing was we dropped the stuff at each friend’s house and left it. No obligation on their part to invite us in or us to have to go and rush off. It’s kind of freeing in a weird way. We have so much more room now. He wants to get an organizing station from Home Depot.

Trust me, my neighborhood is louder than ever with landscapers. But that's only because I am now home to hear it. Each day is a different neighbor getting their lawn cut. The noise is deafening. I was working out in my yard today and had to go inside because I couldn't hear myself think.
So that's not the case by me for sure!

Yes, being able to just stop by for a quick hello and boogie out of there is awesome. Nobody invites you in, nobody expects you to stay. I don't have to keep drinks and snacks on hand for company. It's awesome.

The positive out come of COVID

I love not having to drive my kids to activities. My kids play on 2 travel soccer teams year round and do karate year round so it’s a never-ending cycle of driving around after work, rushing home to cook and then doing whatever needs to be done at night (cleaning the house, laundry, homework, logging back on to finishing work projects). I never realized how much I loathed being the taxi until I wasn’t doing it. When this is over I will definitely be re-evaluating the activities for 6-7 days a week we were doing before.

Same as Nell over here. We are the only ones who don’t have a landscaper on my block. All different days too so it is like you hear something all week long.

We are the only one who cuts our own lawn as well. DH doesn't mind doing it, looks at it as exercise, and just can't see spending money on something he can easily do himself.
He is retired, so he has no excuse!

I have gotten jealous but then think we don’t have a large yard and doesn’t take that long. The $30, which they probably would charge us could be used for something else. Many years ago my BIL’s company charged us $20 and we did it one summer as my husband was working a lot at that time so it was worth it.
