Re: WORMS?
Thats a round worm. It is VERY common in young puppies. Weadopted my pup at 12 weeks and even though she had been *supposedly* dewormed at the shelter- she came home LOADED with worms.
Have you brought her for her first well-puupy visit? Call the vet if not because she needs to be dewormed ASAP.

glad to hear its not fatal.
i was waiting for her vet records to come through, but now this happened so im just taking her in.
i was afraid she would get overvaccinated, but i cant wait around forever.

Re: WORMS?
The Dr can do some stool & bloodwork to see if she needs additional vaccinations. Did her previous owner not give you her records?
Hope Mia is ok!

no records whatsoever. she "forgot" them... she said she would give them to me once she found them. i have emailed her twice with no response.
also, the only paperwork she DID give me was for teh CKC (backyard breeder form of AKC) and it has the breeders info on it. i called her and her phone was conviently "not in service" as well. so i have no idea what she has and has not had done.
i am bringing the worm and a stool sample. we go in a few minutes.

Re: WORMS?
Aww poor thing has icky roundworms... One of my dogs had them SO bad, when i first got it, it scared the crap out of me. Just be prepared for what you might see once she is given the dewormer. No one warned me and I literally screamed.

Re: WORMS?
thansk everyone! we had to start from square one. she is doing all of her shots (if she had any) all over again.
she was given the dewormer and he told me what to expect.
she ALSO has doubled in size since i got her, which makes me think they were not feeding her correctly.
she is 3 lbs now!

she is 3 lbs now! Wow that is a HUGE growth spurt in such a short time. Apparently her previous owners were not taking the best care of her.
Glad she found you!

Amazing how people do NOT take care of their pets

Re: WORMS?
We found out that our 5 month old puppy had worms. Th vet found it by doing a stool sample. They gave him 3 pills to take the day we found out, and he had to take 4 more in 3 weeks. He seems to be doing okay. I haven't seen any worms in his stool. He is still eating and is gaining weight normally, so I think he is okay.
