adoptive mothers who want to breast feed
i was looking to buy a breast pump for a baby shower. as i was looking into which pump the mom-to-be wants, i came across information that you can induce lactation even if you haven't been pregnant.
i was fascinated by the subject. has anyone here done that?

I haven't done it but I know it can be done. THere is a course of herbs and such that you need to take to start it. I would recommend you contact a LC and find one that specializes in inducing lactation!
Good luck it CAN be done!!!!

Re: adoptive mothers who want to breast feed
I did it I took the meds, feenugeek, oatmeal, pumping, pumping, pumping Some moms can get their supply to a full supply. I never did that, but that is okay. I gave him 1 bottle a day for 3 months. Jason was 12 months old when he came home so I did not try to actually nurse him, but I have read about women who were able to.
I can help you if you need help getting started...
