Dog treats...

What kind of treats do give your dogs? I'd like to find something somewhat healthy so I don't feel guilty giving him a few per day.

Thanks!

Re: Dog treats...

Currently, Evo Weight Management treats. Our dogs don't have weight problems but they don't have yeast in them and they're both prone to yeast ear infections.

We also split one banana for them every night. They've had apples too, snap peas, green beans, carrots.

I would assume that since the vet said that, it's okay.Chat Icon

My mom gives her dogs carrots when they were worried about their weight, now this is all they eat. It is cheap too. We give Iams treats but not sure what is in them.

Re: Dog treats...

try googling some homemade dog treat recipes. i have made them b4 and they typically use things you would have right in your kitchen like oats, peanut butter, apples, etc... all healthy things. When you know whats going into them you will get a feel how many you should be giving. they also freeze well so making a big batch will save you time in the long run.

I give my dog Nutro brand treats. I think they're called "chops"
and he also gets Charlie Bears. The CB's are so small. We used them for training, but he loves them, so we continue to get them.

My aunt started making her own dog treats years ago when one of her dogs had stomach issues. She swears by it!
I should give it a try.
