Bridal Showers

If you were in a bridal party, what did you chip in for for the Bridal shower?

Option 1: Shower/food only - you and the bridal party pooled your money to pay for the location, food, drinks

Option 2: Big Ticket Item - you and the bridal party pooled your money to buy something expensive off of the brides registry

Option 3: A little of both - you and the bridal party pooled your money and split the cost of the shower with the MOB AND bought an item off the brides registry

Option 4: Obligatory Other - please explain!

I realize that some have probably been in more than one bridal party. In that case, please vote based on what you encountered MOST when you have been in a bridal party. Thanks in advance!!

Re: Bridal Showers

I voted a little of both--b/c for the 3 BP's I've been in, the MOB has taken care of most of the shower, and as a member of the BP we were responsible for smaller things such as invitations, games, and centerpieces.

We then pooled in for a large item such as luggage, china, bedding set, etc.

Re: Bridal Showers

I just got married in November and I did not ask my girls to do anything for my shower except make a basket for a give-a-way. I was considerate of the fact that not everyone can afford to chip in and no one should feel obligated to do so. I think they should just be there to support and get their own gifts unless all of the girls decide they want to chip in for a gift. Being in a wedding is a big enough expense after the dress, hair, shoes, gifts, etc... after all, it's the brides wedding, not theirs.

Re: Bridal Showers

every bridal party that I have been in, we either bought a joint gift or we bought our own presents of the registry and we each paid of our own part of the shower. One person was in charge of games, prizes, favors, etc.
