muddy paws
what do you guys do when your dogs come in with muddy paws? do you stop them and dry there feet off or do you let them make a mess and clean up the paw prints later
my dog is 80lbs its kinda hard to stop him in his tracks to try to clean those paws so i put a towel down and hope he gets most of it off!

Re: muddy paws
My dog no longer has a name, we just call her muddy paws, haha.
I throw a towel down in the front of the back door before she comes in so she has to wipe off her feet. If it's raining out, I'll stop her before she can get anywhere and wipe her paws, it was a struggle at first, but now she is used to it.

Re: muddy paws
if they have dirty paws they are told to sit and stay as soon as they get in the house...then i use an old towel to clean off their paws...they know what's coming when i grab the towel...

Re: muddy paws
we stop our dog the minute he walks in....he now knows he has to stop. Our dog is 75 lbs so if you start stopping him he will learn and it wont be hard after a few times

Re: muddy paws
I put an old towel down and when my 70 pound dog comes inside I say "wipe your feet!" and he starts dancing on the towel! It's actually pretty funny.

Re: muddy paws
I stop them at the doorway and wipe off their feet before they come in the house. I still have a mess sometimes.

Re: muddy paws
I grab her as soon as she comes in the door and wipe those paws down! Usually I close the door to the rest of the house so she's contained in the front hall.
