Nook and Kindle turning the page question..
I want to get for my birthday one..not decided on which yet.
So in B &N the other day..played with Nook and when you click to turn the page..the words on the page kinda all blur together real quick and the next page loads....
Anyone know what I'm saying?
Well after like 3 pages..it was hurting my eyes so bad I was developing a headache from this.
I asked the girl if this was normal and she said yeah all readers do this.
I don't remember the kindle doing this when I tested it in Target but it has been a while..maybe I didn't notice.
Do all readers do this and is it just me that it bothers?

I have a nook color and this does not happen. It goes right to the next page and is not blurry.

I never noticed that on mine, I'll have to pay attention the next time I'm reading on it.
I usually turn pages with a finger swipe on the touchscreen rather than the keys, maybe that's the difference?

I just pulled mine out and tried it and it does but it's so quick I guess I never really paid attention to it.

It is super quick..people might not even be noticing it...I have issue with my eyes and vertigo etc so these things just seem to affect me more, and I noticed it. even the sales girl thought I was crazy, but I was nauseous just looking at it...lol....i am dissapointed and am gonna try the kindle againa nd see.

Same here...it might be making you dizzy since its more of a computer screen and not an ink deal like the Kindle is. Reading on a Kindle is just like reading a book, doesn't hurt your eyes any more than reading a regular book would.

I know exactly what you're talking about and I have seen it on the regular Nook. It annoyed my eyes.
I have the Nook Color and this does not happen at all. When you turn the page, it's practically instantaneous. No blurring at all.

I have a Nook and the page sort of goes black for half a split second then the next page appears. It bothered me at first but now after using it for a month, I barely notice it. I actually like it b/c sometimes I hit the page turn button by mistake when I fumble for my train ticket - I'll see the flashing and know that I need to go back to the right page.

so my nook has been telling me that there's an update for a while now. I finally just did the update and the page turns MUCH faster now

It does happen with the Nook. I agree, it's gotten much better since the update. It used to bother me a lot but now I don't even notice it. I have a regular nook not color.
