Skin change on tips of fingers?
Over the past few weeks, I've noticed something weird happening to my fingers. The top of all of my fingers except my thumbs are losing their fingerprints. It's almost like it's turning to scar tissue. The skin feels thinker and it's smooth and shiny. It's more towards where my nail is on the top, but it's spreading to a good portion of the pads of my fingers.
Any idea what could be going on?

My dad has this as a symptom of scleroderma. However, there are several things it could be. Do you have any other medical issues going on?

Are your hands extremely dry?

No other medical issues, but I do have little pinprick-like things under the skin on my hands (palms and fingers) that hurt like a mo-fo when pressed on. Can't see anything from the surface, but when I touch random spots, there's like a little hard, hurty lump.
Maybe it's time to see a dermatologist about this?
I'm falling apart.
