WIsdom teeth....
My DH is supposed to have to extractions done today one on each side of his mouth. He asked if he would be put to sleep and they said No?? He is freaking out right now cause he hates the dentist. When I had mine done (diff dentist) I was put to sleep?? Can anyone tell me if they had it done without being put out?? How was the pain and about how long was it?

I had my wisdom teeth taken out without being put to sleep. For me, the pain I was having before I had them out was much worse than the recovery pain. My mouth was so numb I didn't even realized when he took the first tooth out - and one of my teeth was impacted! Your DH will be fine. The only thing I'll say is to ask the dentist/oral surgeon to call his prescription into his pharmacy so that he can get his pain meds asap b/c he will be in pain once the novacaine wears out.

I hate the dentist!! There is no way that I would go through getting my wisdom teeth out without being put out.

it was probably the funnest time ive ever had. im weird though. i had 2 impacted molars out at once. i had nitrous oxide. surgeon called me a cheap date lol

I've been asleep for one and awake for the other. For one where I was awake, there was alot of pressure, I didn't have pain, but the noise freaked me out.

I had my wisdom teeth out (both on top) with nothing more than a shot of Novocaine and they sent me on my merry way.
There was no pain. I could just hear noise, that sounding like cracking, but my dentist assured me it came out whole and there was no issues.
ETA: NO pain meds at all. I let it clot for the first day, then rinsed with salt water for a few days.

I had one wisdom tooth pulled without being knocked out. It wasn't painful but it was a very unpleasant experience. You feel tons of pressures, hear awful grinding and breaking noises and I had to fight the urge to gag because of all the instruments in my mouth. Get knocked out instead !!

I had 3 wisdom teeth out at different times.
First: Asleep (it was impacted)
Second: 2 shots of novacaine
Third: Was a broken tooth, so, I asked for the "sweet air" rather than be blaaaah the rest of the day.
