found a lump
in my neck....my father had hodgkins disease (which all started from a lump in his neck)
he died when he was 29 and Im 32 and freaking out I dont even have a dr
I just called my insurance company and they gave me a dr so what do I just call and make an appt with him??

yes BUT there are 2 things I want you to consider b/f you get yourself anymore upset than you are.
1) There are glands in your neck, they can get swollen and be BIG bumps
2) Something as simple as a pimple on your head can drain into that gland & make it swell.
This is what happened to me last year. Def go to the doctor but dont allow yourself to get upset UNLESS there is something to get upset about.

I agree w/ the above poster. I had a lump in my neck and it was a cyst. Try to stay calm, just make sure you get it looked at.

I have an appt on Thursday.....I got an appt today with a new dr but I got there and they said they didnt take my insurance(even though the insurance company is the one that gave me his name)
so now I have to wait until thursday

I agree with the other poster, don't worry until there is something to worry about.
I'm no doctor and not sure if this makes you feel better but from my experience there is hope, even if it is hodgkins. we lost a family member to Hodgkins a long time ago and years later another family member was diagnosed with it, and was cured. I've learned then that Hodgkins is one of the most treatable cancers and the medical field has advanced in this since our first relative passed away from it.
I once had a lump there and it ended up being nothing!
