Has anyone taken Prednisone?
I have to take prednisone for 2 wks in conjunction with antibiotics for a sinus problem. I've never taken anything like this and am nervous about it!
If you have taken it - please tell me anything I should know! Thanks so much in advance  hug:

You will be hungry, irritable, anxious and have insomnia. It has crappy side effects, but it works wonders.
Be sure to take as directed, and early in the day to cut down on the insomnia. It's not just a drug you can stop taking one day, you need to wind down on dosages gradually.

Yes, it has the dosing schedule on the prescription. I'm taking it with an antibiotic and was going to take the antibiotic first and then the steroid a few hours later but, maybe I should take it first to help with the insomnia?

I really haven't found that taking it in the morning helps for me, but the pharmacist recommended it. He also told me to take all day's worth at one time. During one cycle when I had to take 4 pills a day I didn trealize and I was spreading the 4 thruout the day - he said its better to do all of them at once at the same time every day.

When I took it I felt like superwoman! I didn't sleep much and was very hungry but that's about it.

I took it for 3 weeks. I gained about 7 lbs, but it was mostly bloating. I wasn't any hungrier than normal and I was going to the gym and I still gained the weight! It did come off quickly after I stopped taking the prednisone.
I also had some mild mood swings. I noticed myself being really impatient with my daughter at times  . Also, I would just be irritable for no reason.
