Question about carpal tunnel
Is it ever painful? I'm having some symptoms in my thumg and index finger that might just be tendonitis but I can't go to the doc just yet (for several reasons), but it could also be carpal. However, from what I'm seeing, it's not usually painful, just numb and tingly.
Any experience with this?

Re: Question about carpal tunnel
CT usually affects your three middle fingers, not your thumb...
try holding your hands together like this for 30 seconds. if those 3 fingers start to tingle, its a good indication of CT
eta: it can definitely be painful, is the pain shooting or numb/dull?

Re: Question about carpal tunnel
i had pain in my thumb & index finger with the carpal tunnel. it was heaven/he&l to have my 'thumb meat' massaged. it would hurt while being massaged, but once finished - it would feel wonderful for a short while.
i had an x-ray done a long time before pregnancy (when the carpal tunnel became a MAJOR issue) and it was found that my bones were out of joint by like 1/16th...and that caused my thumb to CONSTANTLY crack...
i don't know if that had anything to do with how bad my pain was (i wound up having surgery)....but that's my story :)
