WWYD - time off request
I was supposed to move tomorrow and had the day off but the prospective tenant went MIA so we cancelled it. Now this guy has reappeared and it is likely he will sign a lease tonight. Which leaves me to a time off request because I can only move out during the week (building rules) and if this deal comes to fruition, I will be forced to have that be next week.
However, my company is incredibly slow with granting time off requests. It has to get processed through our head office in London which is what holds everything up. And to boot, the guy who signs off on my requests is on vacation.
So what would you do - go straight to the London office for an asap request and just cross your fingers it gets signed off in time or call out sick? I NEVER call out when I'm not really sick so I'll feel ultra guilty doing it. That said, my office also knows that I'm moving at some point soon.

Not sure if you have time for this or not, but maybe ask around your office and see if anyone has been in a similar situation where they needed a time of request granted asap.
If not, go then go straight to the head honchos. Or, could you call in sick?
