Re: Braces....
DS needed top and bottom braces and night gear. Everything all together came to about $4500. The insurance (NYC PBA) covered everything except the night gear, which was about $1000. We did a payment plan for that. We will be responsible for the retainer too, but that's at least 3.5 years down the road.

Re: Braces....
SD had them, I believe they cost about $4,500 - we were responsible for $1,600, which we split with SM $800 each. (Not that that is here nor there, just saying)

Re: Braces....
My SD's were around the $5000 mark .. I forget exactly (this was after a 25% discount with our not so great dental plan)...
We did (or shall I say -are still) making payments .......

Re: Braces....
My dd's were $4,700. $1,200 is paid by dental and I got a $200 discount by paying in full.

Re: Braces....
Being in the field I will just say that around $5000 is the "norm" ....all insurances are different in what they cover though. Most of the ortho doctors I know will let you set up a payment plan that spreads over the time of the course of DC's treatment.
