2 Goodie Bag questions?
Do 8 year olds get goodie bags? We haven't done a birthday party since my older son was 3.
And, what do 8yr old boys and girls want in their goodie bags if they do get them?
TIA!

Re: 2 Goodie Bag questions?
Yeah, DS got them at all the parties he went to last year.
Candy is always a popular item. Those annoying plastic clapping hands You could do a small toy based on the party theme. For DS's 8th, we had it at a go-kart place, so we put a Matchbox car in each bag, along with the candy.

I like to get one good thing instead of a bag full of junk or candy. It's a karate party right? Maybe a water bottle, a book, activity book, etc.

Re: 2 Goodie Bag questions?
I think that those are great ideas for a Karate Party.
A water bottle (Maybe get some paint pens from AC Moore/Michael's and personalize them!)
Then you can stuff it with some of the "cheaper" things that are typical of goodie bags...but I like to keep it to things that are useful. Such as little erasers, pencils, notepads, stickers, etc.
I have to tell you that honestly little toys like the little hand clappers, slinkies, yoyos are such junk that we just throw it away!
But we always keep notepads, stickers, pencils, erasers BC DD will end up using them!
Then wrap it all in clear cellephane and use some curling ribbon, and it'll look like a really nice personalized gift!

I agree, for SS I did personalized mini gumball machines and one year a little kinex kit when he was 8 and 9. DD had a karate party for her 4th and I did personalized water bottles.
