I ride the train to work and walk a few blocks. This morning, at 7:30 I saw one of my students getting off the train. I know it was her because she has a very distinctive and colorful bag and a baby blue winter coat (in a sea of black coats among almost all the kids.)

She walked into class at 8:30, a half hour late. I asked her why she was late when I saw her an hour before and she denied being there. She then insisted her brother dropped her off at 8:30. I called him and he said that was true- but I KNOW I saw her. And she's lied to me before. Chat Icon Chat Icon

This has become a trend this year with our students too- they are very early then they stroll in when they feel like it. And it's foolish because there is a men's shelter across the street and there have been some issues. Not saying it's automatically dangerous, but the neighborhood's bad anyway. I wish these kids would think a little more!
