is no appetite ever a cause for concern...
let me preface this by saying i have never been skinny and never had a problem eating..
until i became pregnant with these twins...
nothing appeals to me,except maybe pickles lol, but i am just not hungry and when i try to eat i feel so full and sick
when i was at the doc they told me it was normal, that the babies are pushing everything up so the diaphram pushes into this and so so and so on and that is why my belly will feel full so quick
i had a hemo appt yesterday and at 16 weeks i lost 4 pounds since my appt last month
i do not care about the number on the scale,i never have but i feel like i am hurting these babies...shouldn't i be gaining weight
i try to eat small meals but i am just not hungry...should i just keep trying small meals and eat as much as i can??
sorry so long

Lack of appetite is somewhat normal! I remember always having a full feeling and when I did eat everything tasted the same like metal (after taste). It could be pizza or chicken I just remember metal!

This is great advice!
Smaller and frequent meals are you best bet Gina.. there were days I just didnt want to eat anything-nothing tasted good... but get what you can down because the further you go along, the less room your tummy has. Most of all if your Dr says don't worry... don't worry. Your babies are growing just fine ;)

i like the idea of protein shakes as the pp said....also try snacking on nuts and other high protein food. That way its still a small portion but its high in all the good stuff you need! Its all about what you eat.....
me and other hand...try my best to eat healthy but i cant get away from the junk!! i feel like i'm eating too much of the bad stuff

I didn't have twins but I was always told so long as the baby wes growing as needed not to worry about it. They will take what they need from you. I was told at the very end by my MFM that she was hoping to see me gain weight but it just never happened. DD was fine (Lord knows I had PLENTY for her to take from, lol). I just wasn't a hungry pregnant woman.

Re: is no appetite ever a cause for concern...
I definitely eat way less now. My husband told me the other day that I don't eat much for a pregnant lady. I will only eat stuff I like. I'm never really hungry so it's hard to eat if I'm not really enjoying food. As long as the babies are growing it's fine. And from what I've been told it gets really hard to eat at the end when they are all up in your stomach pushing everything to it's max.

I am also eating a lot less than normal with my singleton pregnancy. I am most worried about protein, so I bought the Kashi cereal that has 13 grams of protein in it. I have been having that in the morning with milk so even if I hardly eat through the day, I know I started off well!

This is me today. I had some oatmeal for breakfast but it was hard getting it down. I was close to gagging a few times.

Gina I'm right there with you. Nothing appeals to me either so I pretty much snack all day and my doc said it's finel I eat things like carrot sticks, grapes, string cheese, Bananas, sandwich thins with peanut butter. I usually force myself to eat some protein like chicken and I usually have a spinach/blueberry smoothie to get some more veggies in. Doc said it's actually better

Just check with your doc before using the protein powders
