Ear Piercing on Boys
My son is 5 and keeps asking to get his ear pierced.
He doesn't understand why we all have it and he can't.
My husband has both ears pierced and regularly wears them on the weekend. DD got hers done at 3 months and I have them also.
Any mom's get their son's ears pierced? What age?
WWYD? I feel like a hypocrite telling him no.

Ear Piercing on Boys
I haven't allowed it & DH doesn't have it so it's not an issue for us. I'd tell him that for boys, it's not very common & it's something you can talk about doing when he's older.
My son's friend got it after begging his parents for it (10 yo) & was teased/bullied at school so he removed it.

Same here. I won't allow it but it's not an issue for us because DH doesn't have his ears pierced. We tell DS the same thing: that it's what girls do.

Re: Ear Piercing on Boys
Do you know why he is asking? Is it purely because everyone else in the family has them, or because he's seen other boys with them (school, activities, TV, movies...)?
If it's just because the rest of the family has them, tell him that it's for girls, and grown-ups.
We also don't have an issue at our house, since only DW has them. Not even 6yo DD has her ears pierced yet.

How old was your husband when he pierced his ears? Not 5, I bet! Tell him daddy didi it when he was all grown up and he needs to wait till then as well!

I agree with the others. I have to say, I saw a little boy who was about three who had both his ears pierced and it just looked very odd - very out of place - and I wasn't sure what to think.
I would tell him it's for girls and grown-ups and you can revisit the request when he's older if he's still interested.

I agree. My husband took his earrings out way before we had kids though.

Re: Ear Piercing on Boys
I didnt think of telling him we could do it when he was older. DH didn't get it until he was like 16 or so.
I have no idea why he asked it. He started the conversation a few days ago in the car, out of nowhere and keeps asking about it.
