Incentive from con ed for converting to gas..?

My husband is saying that con ed will offer us some sort incentive when we convert from oil to gas, is this true?

This is not true. They do offer cash back if you fulfill certain criteria (purchase certain equipment) when you do your conversion. They are suppose to offer a rebate program for this year but the information has not been posted on their web site yet. They have a section of their web site dedicated to conversion to gas and you can call and discuss it with them. Each case has different criteria depending on the gas service to the house and the existing meter, etc. I just started looking into this foru house.

Last years rebate program was only open to the first 500 customers so if you are serious about doing the conversion you should probably look into it ASAP. The application requires a plumber to fill it out.

LIPA (Not sure if PSE&G still offer it) had a program where they would give you an incentive if you converted from electric to gas heat, but not from oil to gas.

Because gas is so desirable right now, I don't believe any companies are offering incentives for conversion anymore. They used to, but I don't believe they do anymore.

My parents converted this past summer and they did receive a rebate from con-ed for purchasing a height efficiency boiler. I think it was $1k
